Institute and Faculty of Actuaries
Delivering a set of multimedia training content on ethics and professional skills for experienced Actuaries. The suite of solutions produced included interactive microsites, animations and 'drama based' real-life scenario videos.
We provide event filming and live broadcast services throughout the year to the Institute helping them to share conference, research and working party knowledge on a world-wide basis to their global membership. Here’s what we do in addition for the Professional Skills group.
'Drama-based' short films
Each year we produce a series of 9 five-minute acted scenarios based on professional dilemmas and ethics. These are scripted, cast and shot over a 5 week period in Edinburgh and London. They are used to deliver Professional Skills Training (PST) to over 30,000 members through the online Virtal Learning Environment and also during Conferences and PST events.
Interactive Introductions
To support and introduce certain professionalism topics we design and code interactive 'slab-based' scrolling microsites. They use parallax imagery, pop up information and allow for different paths through the content.
These allow a user to explore a topic in a very visual way and are optimsed for mobile devices allowing scrolling and swiping to navigate the content. To take look for yourself, click the button below.
Interviews & VoxPops
Throughout each year we work with gather interviews and voxpops from experienced members on subjects as diverse as Volunteering, becoming a CPD co-ordinator, 'Trust in the Profession' and Quality Assurance.
These are edited into short pieces that are used online on the public website, email campaigns as well as the Virtual Learning Environment and also shown at physical events and conferences.Vignettes and animated illustrations
Each year a Professional Skills Toolkit is produced and updated. There are aimed at 'Train the Trainer' personnel at Insurance companies with IFoA members. In this way Professional Skills Training can be delivered in-house. We produce rolling presentations, animations and illustrated vignettes (as shown opposite) based on professional dilemmas for the toolkit.
Live webinars
The CPD year for members ends in June, so each year we run two live webinars for the Professional Skills team based Professional Ethics in order to allow members to complete their CPD online. Based on a panel discussion, slide presentations, videos, voting and a Q&A session, the two webinars reached an audience of other 1,300 last year.
